Guidelines
General
Information
Membership
in the Eighth District Dental Society is open to
any dentist licensed to practice in the State of
New York and having an office, which is located
within the eight counties of Western New York. Dentists
interested in applying for membership must submit
their request in writing on a form prescribed by
the Eighth District Dental Society; the application
for membership will be reviewed by the Council on
Membership & Communications and must be approved
at a regular meeting of the Executive Council of
the Eighth District Dental Society.
Membership
in organized dentistry conforms to the tripartite
system of membership in effect between the American
Dental Association (ADA), the New York State Dental
Association (NYSDA) and the Eighth District Dental
Society; that is, member dentists must be members
of all three levels of organized dentistry. The
Eighth District Dental Society is a component division
of the ADA, whereas NYSDA is a constituent division
of the ADA. Acceptance for membership by the Eighth
District Dental Society constitutes membership admission
by all three divisions.
Applications
Applications
for membership in organized dentistry are accepted
throughout the year. Membership is renewable the
first day of each calendar year. Membership renewal
notices and annual dues invoices are sent to members
in November of the preceding year.
Once
an application is received, it will be reviewed.
A packet of additional membership information and
an invoice for current year dues will be mailed.
APPLICATIONS CANNOT BE PROCESSED UNTIL THE EIGHTH
DISTRICT RECEIVES PAYMENT OF DUES.
