The
Eighth District Dental Society is a professional association,
consisting of dentists from the eight counties of Western
New York; that is, the counties of Niagara, Erie, Chautauqua,
Allegany, Cattaraugus, Wyoming, Genesee and Orleans. There
are currently 900 active members in the Society.
The Dental Society is organized for the purpose of encouraging
improvement of the health of the public, to promote the
art and science of dentistry, and to represent the interests
of the members of the profession and the public which
it serves.
The Dental Society is governed by an Executive Council
made up of 21 members. The Eighth District Dental Society
is a component district of the New York Dental Society
and the American Dental Society.
The Dental Society has a three-person staff, consisting
of an Executive Director, an Administrative Assistant,
and an Accounts Manager.
The Dental Society administers a comprehensive offering
of member benefits, through the Eighth District Service
Corporation. In addition, the Dental Society provides
a membership communications program, a grievance procedure
and a continuing education program.
